CERULEAN CITY

Cerulean City is a medium-sized city characterized by large Oak and Pine trees and small, well-kept manicured bushes outside of people’s homes. There are lampposts that dot the streets, giving light and aid in the darkness at night. It is known for its famous Bike Shop, which has the best bikes around Kanto Region. It is known at the home of the Cerulean City GYM, which is the second GYM that trainers must face along their journey. It is also home to the Cerulean Cave that is accessible with a Pokemon that knows Surf and the right badge to allow usage of the move outside of battle. Please note that all Pokemon found along this route will be between levels 10-15. Common Pokemon are easily found in the wild. Uncommon Pokemon have a 1/3 chance of appearing in the wild. Scarce Pokemon have a 1/6 chance of appearing in the wild. Rare Pokemon have a 1/12 chance of appearing in the wild. Lore Pokemon have a 1/24 chance of appearing in the wild.

STORY TRAINERS

Story Trainers are unique trainers that may or may not appear in threads. Players may specifically ask for the "story trainers" to enhance their playthrough experience within the roleplay. However, these trainers, and "villains" such as Team Rocket and/or rivals, may be found in multiple spots along the journey. Some trainers - such as the rival trainer - may be prompted to be "named" by the player and only applies in single-thread battles with the player. Story Trainers cannot be activated in Group Threads, and their Pokemon levels typically mimick the player's trainer's Pokemon levels.

Route 5 is a hilly, forested terrain with a wide dirt path. It is a relatively quiet and peaceful route scarce of trainers but teeming with wild Pokemon. There are man-made staircases that can help travelers climb up and down the tall hills along the route in some locations. Trainers are restricted to using the Underground Path to reach Vermillion City until they've completed the Quest in Celadon City.

Trainer battles cannot be run from or escaped, and will not end until a declared victor. The item chance percentage is a dice roll to determine if the player will win an item as well as the prize money. They chance roll only happens for the first time battling the trainer and is predetermined at the start of the battle.

HM Cut Required & Cascade Badge to Progress onto Route 9.b Route 9 is a rocky mountainous terrain with steep ledges. Trainers will have to carefully navigate the route as they work their way to Route 10. Although the ledges are often too steep to climb over, there are man-made stairs built into the sides of small hills along the way to help the trainer traverse the route. Route 9 is also teeming with NPC trainers.
